Privacy Policy
DeskControl does not transmit app usage or accessibility data to the developer or third parties. The app has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, account, or developer-operated remote server SDK. The Google Play edition communicates with Google Play only to display, process, restore, and acknowledge the optional Supporter Icon Pack purchase.
Data processed on the device
DeskControl processes the following information locally to provide its features:
- the list, labels, icons, and package identifiers of launchable apps;
- recent app launch counts and pinned app choices;
- connected display properties such as display identifier, resolution, density, rotation, name, state, mode, product information, and display-policy flags;
- device and OS build information, selected display and developer settings, versions and state of a fixed set of projection/system components, and—in the outside-Play edition—optional Shizuku service state;
- motion sensor readings while Motion Mouse is active;
- accessibility window metadata, active app identifiers, focusable UI structure, confirmation that a selected app appeared on the intended display, natural-restoration checks after display reconnect or wake, user-initiated gestures, Back actions, and calibration or screen-off key input; and
- app preferences and a persistent on-device diagnostic log of recent events.
This information remains on the device. Diagnostic logs leave app-private storage only when the user explicitly copies them or saves them through the system file picker; the user then decides whether to share them.
Accessibility Service
DeskControl uses Android Accessibility Service to draw a cursor on a connected external display and send only actions initiated by the user through the touchpad or Motion Mouse. It also identifies and focuses the active window on that display and forwards user-initiated Back, calibration, and screen-off key actions.
After an external display reconnects or wakes, DeskControl may use the locally observed app identifier to ask whether the user wants to reopen the last verified projected app. It does not reopen that app without foreground user confirmation. DeskControl does not read passwords, bypass security controls, or transmit screen or accessibility data.
Purchases
The Google Play edition offers an optional, non-consumable Supporter Icon Pack. Purchases are processed by Google Play. DeskControl queries Google Play only for the product details and purchase entitlement required to display, restore, and acknowledge that purchase. The outside-Play edition contains no purchase functionality.
Storage, backup, and deletion
Local preferences and diagnostics are excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Users can delete all local data by clearing DeskControl storage or uninstalling the app.
Children
DeskControl is a general-purpose external-display utility and is not directed to children.
